Overlay Widgets: Other
Three widgets that don't fit the other categories: bot replies in the overlay, OBS remote control and a free-form code widget for advanced users. Menu: Overlay → Designer (Beta) → Add widget → Other.
Bot Message
Shows your chatbot's replies directly in the overlay.
| Field | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Text template | 🤖 {message} |
- |
| Display duration | 8000 ms | - |
| Font / size / color | Inter / 28 / #ffffff |

OBS Control
Has no visual output of its own. This widget runs in the background inside OBS (as part of the overlay already loaded there) and relays automation-triggered OBS commands to your local obs-websocket server.
| Field | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Allowed actions | empty | You must explicitly enable each OBS action individually before an automation may use it |
| Stats history | off | - |
Custom Widget
A free-form code widget for your own HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Meant for advanced users who want to build their own overlay element.
| Tab | Meaning |
|---|---|
| HTML | The widget's visible structure |
| CSS | Your own stylesheet |
| JS | Your own script |
| Fields | Your own configurable values (for example a color) that you can reuse in your code |
Without your own code, the widget stays empty.
FAQ
Do I need programming knowledge for the Custom Widget? Yes, HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge is required. No other widget needs any code of your own.
Why doesn't anything happen with OBS Control? You must first enable each desired OBS action in the widget itself before an automation can trigger it. Without that, the control stays idle.
What are the "Fields" for in the Custom Widget? They let you define your own adjustable values (for example a color or a text) that you can then reuse in your HTML/CSS/JS, without having to edit the code itself every time.
