Bot Account

Bot Account

By default your channel uses the shared eranio.de bot. This page lets you link your own Twitch account as the bot instead, so your own bot name shows up in chat. Menu: Bot → Bot Account.

Linking your own bot

Start Twitch linking sends you to Twitch, where you authorize any Twitch account (ideally one created just for this) as the bot. The request is valid for one hour. After confirming on Twitch, you return to the panel, and the bot runs through that account from then on.

What changes

Once your own bot is linked:

  • The trigger word on the Settings page disappears, the bot reacts to its own Twitch name instead.
  • Under Settings, "Moderation account" also offers "Own bot" as a choice.
  • Your own bot name appears in chat instead of the shared bot.

Making the bot a moderator

So your bot can delete messages and bypass timeout restrictions, make it a moderator in your Twitch chat with /mod <botname>. This is recommended regardless of whether you use the shared or your own bot.

FAQ

Do I need my own Twitch account for the bot? Yes, you need to have created one yourself somewhere, for example a second account. This page only links an existing Twitch account.

Can I undo the link? Contact the administrator for that, there is no separate unlink action on this page.

What happens to my settings if I switch bots? Your automations, points and other settings stay, only the chat account changes.
