Values & Approvals

Values & Approvals
This page shows two things that build up while automations run: the collected counter values of your counter automations (for example check-in streaks) and command suggestions that viewers submitted through a channel points reward and that are still waiting for your approval. Menu: Bot → Values & Approvals.
Automations with no activity at all do not show up here. Only once a viewer has triggered an automation at least once does it appear in the selector.
Page layout
At the top is a selector labeled Name. It contains:
- Every counter automation in your channel that has already collected at least one entry.
- The entry Pending Commands (count), but only while something is actually waiting. Once nothing is left pending, this entry disappears again and the selector automatically switches to the first automation.
Depending on what is selected, the table below shows either that automation's counter values or the list of pending commands.
Together with automations and channel points rewards (see the Automations guide), this page is where you later correct, clean up or approve the data they produce.
Counter values of an automation
A counter automation runs in one of three counting modes, chosen when the automation is set up. The table looks slightly different depending on the mode.
"Channel only" mode
A single shared counter for the whole channel (for example !death). There is only one row.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Count | Current value |
| Last Entry | When the counter was last changed |
Instead of "Delete" there is only Reset counter here: the value is set to 0, the row itself stays (it would be recreated at 0 automatically on the next trigger anyway).
"Per viewer" mode
Every viewer has their own count (normal counting up, for example !kiss).
| Column | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| User | Viewer's Twitch name | - |
| Count | Current value | - |
| Last Entry | When it was last changed | - |
"Stream streak" mode
For check-in style commands that only count once per stream and that keep a running streak.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| User | Viewer's Twitch name |
| Count | Total number of check-ins |
| Current Streak | How many streams in a row the viewer checked in most recently |
| Longest Streak | Best value so far |
| Last Entry | When it was last changed |
Editing an entry
Edit lets you correct a single entry:
- For "Per viewer" and "Stream streak": name and count, and for stream streak also the current and longest streak. Next to it, an Internal identifier is shown that cannot be edited. It shows which real Twitch identity the row is linked to and is for reference only.
- For "Channel only": only the count.
If you enter a name that another row in the same automation already uses, the message "This name is already used by another entry." appears and the change is not saved. This prevents the same person from accidentally showing up twice in the list.
Removing an entry
For "Per viewer" and "Stream streak" there is Delete: the entry is removed completely (with a confirmation prompt). If the viewer triggers the automation again afterwards, a new row is created automatically at 0.
For "Channel only" there is only Reset counter instead (see above).
Add User
Add User (at the top of the page, only visible for "Per viewer" and "Stream streak") lets you manually enter a viewer with a starting value, for example to carry over an import from another system.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Twitch username or profile link | Name (e.g. "examplename") or full link (e.g. "https://twitch.tv/examplename") |
| Count | Starting value, default 0 |
The entered name is resolved directly through Twitch so the name and internal identifier are guaranteed to match. If an entry for that viewer already exists, its count is overwritten instead of creating a second entry. If the viewer cannot be found on Twitch, the message "Twitch user not found. Please check the spelling." appears and nothing is saved.
Pending Commands
This section only appears if an automation of type "Add command" is set up (see the Automations guide). With it, viewers trigger a custom command suggestion in chat in the format !command Response text through a channel points reward that requires a text input. The suggestion does not go live automatically, it lands here for review.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Command | The suggested command, e.g. !hello |
| Name | The suggested response text |
| Submitted by | Viewer's Twitch name |
| Status | Awaiting approval / Approved / Rejected |
| Submitted | Time of submission |
A filter by status is available, default is "Awaiting approval".
Approve
Approve opens a dialog where the command name can still be adjusted (must start with !, only letters, numbers, _ and -). If the command is already taken by another automation, the message "The command :trigger already exists, please choose a different name." appears and nothing is created.
Once approval is confirmed:
- A new, immediately active chat command automation is created with the suggested response text and permission "Everyone".
- The matching channel points redemption on Twitch is marked as fulfilled.
- If the original automation has an approval message configured, the viewer is notified in chat that their command is now active.
Reject
Reject (with a confirmation prompt) rejects the suggestion. The channel points are refunded to the viewer automatically, and if a rejection message is configured, it is posted in chat.
Delete
Entries that are already approved or rejected can be removed from the list with Delete. While a suggestion is still awaiting approval, deleting is not possible, only approving or rejecting.
Dashboard notification
As long as at least one command suggestion is awaiting approval, the "Values & Approvals" menu entry shows a small number as a hint.
TikTok
TikTok: planned and in progress.
FAQ
Why don't I see my automation in the selector? Only counter automations that have been triggered at least once appear in the list. If nobody has used the command yet, there is no data to show.
What happens if I delete a count and the viewer uses the command again? A new row is created automatically at 0, so the viewer starts over.
Can I change the name of a "channel only" counter? No, this counter only has one fixed row without a name. Only the count can be edited.
Why is the identifier locked in the edit form? This identifier links the row to the viewer's actual Twitch identity. If it is changed by hand, the bot no longer recognizes the person on their next check-in and creates a second, empty row. Use "Add User" instead to enter a value correctly.
I rejected a command suggestion, does the viewer get their points back? Yes, that happens automatically as soon as you click "Reject".
