Watchtime
Here you see how long every viewer has already watched your stream, and you can manage these values: edit entries individually, add or delete them, or import your data from StreamElements. Menu: Community → Watchtime.
Viewer list
The table shows all recorded viewers with the following columns:
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| User | Viewer's Twitch username |
| Platform | Only visible if you have more than one platform connected, shown as a colored badge |
| Total watchtime | Time as "Xh Ym" (just "Ym" if under one hour) |
| Last seen | Date and time, only visible from medium screen sizes up |
You can search by username and sort the list by username, platform or watchtime. You can choose between 10, 25, 50 or 100 entries per page.
Filters
- Active in the last 30 days: shows only viewers seen within the last 30 days
- Over 100 minutes: shows only viewers with at least 100 minutes of watchtime
View viewer profile
This action opens a window with details about the viewer: their Twitch login, their loyalty points, their current watchtime and the number of chat messages they have sent in your channel.
Edit or delete watchtime
Through the row action menu you can:
- Edit watchtime: enter a new minute value (must be 0 or higher)
- Delete watchtime: deletes the viewer's entire entry, after confirmation in the window
Add entry
The Add entry button lets you manually create a watchtime entry.
| Field | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Twitch username | yes (max 50 characters) | Viewer's name |
| Minutes | yes (at least 0) | Watchtime in minutes, default 0 |
The system tries to find the real Twitch ID for the name. If that fails, you get an error that the user was not found. If the viewer already exists, you get a warning instead of a duplicate entry.
Data management
StreamElements import
Only visible for Twitch streamers. This fetches the top users from your StreamElements account and takes over their watchtime.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| StreamElements channel | Name of your StreamElements channel |
| JWT token | Your StreamElements API token (password field, can be shown/hidden) |
| Overwrite | Off by default, determines whether existing values are overwritten |
After the import you see how many viewers were added, updated or skipped. If the channel is not found or the StreamElements API does not respond, you get a matching error message.
Import
Uploads a backup file (.json, .csv or .txt).
- JSON: expects entries with Twitch user ID and username, creates new entries or updates existing ones
- CSV/TXT: expects the format
Username, Minutesper line
An invalid format produces an error message. After a successful import you see how many entries were added and how many updated.
Export
Creates a backup file named watchtime_backup_YYYY-MM-DD_HH-mm-ss.json with the Twitch user ID, username, total minutes and the time the viewer was last seen.
FAQ
Where does watchtime actually come from? It is recorded automatically while a viewer actively follows your stream in chat. This page is only for viewing and manually managing those values.
What happens when I turn on overwrite in the StreamElements import? If the toggle is on, a viewer's existing watchtime is replaced by the imported value. If it is off, existing values stay unchanged and only new viewers are added.
Can I also manage watchtime for TikTok viewers? TikTok: planned and in progress.
