Donations

On this page you set up your own public donation page. Menu: Community → Donations.

What the page is for

Here you decide how your public donation page looks and which providers accept donations for you. The page generates your own link, which you can share in your stream info or chat, for example. Anyone who opens this link sees your donation page and can send you a donation via PayPal.

Donation Settings

Field What it does Default
Enable donation page Turns your public donation page on or off Off
PayPal Username Your PayPal username (for paypal.me) or your PayPal email, minimum 4 characters empty, required once enabled
Page Content Free text with formatting and links that visitors see on your donation page empty

The remaining fields (Donation Integrations, Social Media Links) only appear once "Enable donation page" is turned on.

Your donation link

Once your donation page is active, the dashboard shows you your personal link (e.g. eranio.de/donation/yourname). Via the button next to it you can copy it with a click.

Donation Integrations

You can connect up to three providers at the same time: Ko-fi, StreamElements, and Streamlabs. Donations from every enabled provider trigger the same alert and the "Recent Donations" widget in your overlay, no matter which of the three providers they come from.

For each provider, you turn it on with its toggle and then enter the token from your own account with that provider:

Provider Field Where to find it
Ko-fi Ko-fi Verification Token On ko-fi.com under "Settings" → "Webhooks": there you also enter the address shown in the help window as a webhook URL and then copy the displayed "Verification Token" here
StreamElements StreamElements JWT Token On streamelements.com in your own account/profile under "Show Secrets"
Streamlabs Streamlabs Socket API Token On streamlabs.com under "Settings" → "API Settings", show the "Socket API Token" there

Next to each token field a question mark button opens a step-by-step guide for exactly that provider. Your token is stored encrypted and never shown publicly. You can end the connection at any time by revoking the token in your own account with that provider. It will then stop working.

Additionally, you can set a Minimum amount. Donations below this amount won't trigger an alert. Leave the field empty for no minimum.

Social Media Links

For Twitch, Twitter/X, YouTube, Instagram, Discord, and your own website, you can individually choose whether the matching button appears on your donation page and enter the matching URL. Only links with the toggle on and a filled URL are shown.

What visitors see on your donation page

Your public donation page shows:

  • Your profile picture and name, below that the social media buttons you've enabled.
  • On the left your page content (your free text) and, as long as you're live and the visitor agreed to external content, your embedded Twitch stream directly on the page.
  • On the right an amount field (default 5.00) and a button to complete the donation via PayPal. Depending on configuration, either PayPal buttons open directly on the page or the visitor is sent to PayPal to pay there.
  • A small note at the bottom of the page about who provides the page.

Typical workflow

  1. Open Community → Donations.
  2. Turn on "Enable donation page".
  3. Enter your PayPal username or PayPal email.
  4. Optionally design your page content.
  5. Optionally connect Ko-fi, StreamElements, or Streamlabs if you want automatic alerts from them.
  6. Turn on the social media links you want to show and enter the URLs.
  7. Save via "Save settings".
  8. Copy your donation link and share it.

FAQ

Do I have to connect one of the three providers (Ko-fi, StreamElements, Streamlabs)? No. Without any of these connections you still get donations via your PayPal link, but you won't get automatic alerts for new donations.

Can I connect multiple providers at the same time? Yes, you can enable Ko-fi, StreamElements, and Streamlabs simultaneously. Donations from all three trigger the same alert.

What happens if I revoke my token with a provider? Then the dashboard no longer gets messages from that provider. Your other providers and your PayPal link continue to work.

Why don't I see my Twitch stream on my own donation page? The stream only appears there if you're currently live and the visitor agreed to load external content (cookie settings).

Can I show a fixed amount instead of a free field on the donation page? No, visitors enter the amount themselves. The field is pre-filled with 5.00 when opening.
