Bot listens to the stream

Speech recognition transcribes your running stream into text as you talk, and the bot uses the last few minutes of that transcript as extra context, alongside chat. Menu: Settings and Stream Transcript. Twitch only.

Requirement: admin release

This feature is only available once an admin has released it for your channel. Ask for the release if you want to use it. Without the release, the switch does not appear in your settings at all, even if it was turned on before.

Once released, you get your own switch under Settings to turn it on or off at any time.

What the bot gets from it

While the switch is on, the bot receives an automatic transcript of the last few minutes of spoken audio from your stream, in addition to the normal chat. The transcript is only ever used as context, the bot never states anything from it as a hard fact.

The Stream Transcript page

Under Stream Transcript you can see the stored text transcript of the last few days, sorted by day, newest first. Segments where the bot recognized that you addressed it in the stream are marked. You will also find the same switches as under Settings there, so you can turn things off at any time without switching to Settings first.

Privacy

  • Audio is converted to text live, nothing is recorded or stored as sound.
  • The bot still only uses the last few minutes as a short cache for its own replies.
  • The text transcript additionally stays viewable under Stream Transcript, by default for 3 days (an admin can set up to 7 days), and is then deleted automatically.
  • Under Stream Transcript you can delete the stored transcript yourself at any time, in full or by day.
  • Speech recognition can make mistakes, so the transcript may contain errors.
  • You can switch this off again at any time in Settings or directly under Stream Transcript.
