Quotes
On this page you manage funny or memorable quotes from your stream that viewers can look up with a chat command. Menu: Community → Quotes.
What the page is for
Each quote has a number, a text, and optionally the name of the person who added it. Viewers can look up a random or a specific quote with a chat command, and moderators can add new quotes directly from chat.
Page layout
The page shows a table of all quotes, newest first.
Columns
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ID | The quote's number. This number can be used to look it up directly in chat |
| Quote | The text of the quote (long texts are shown truncated) |
| Added by | Who added the quote |
| Date | Date and time the quote was created |
The search field lets you search by ID, quote text, or the name of whoever added it.
New Quote
The New Quote button at the top of the page lets you add a quote through the interface:
| Field | Required | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Quote Text | Yes | Up to 1000 characters |
| Added by (Optional) | No | If left empty, the system automatically stores "Streamer" |
Edit and delete
The action menu on each row lets you Edit a quote (change the text and "Added by") or Delete it (with confirmation).
What viewers type in chat
Any viewer can get a random quote with this command:
!quote
The bot replies, for example: "Zitat #12: Das war mal wieder ein Clip!" (quote text in the language it was entered in).
A number looks up a specific quote:
!quote 12
If that number doesn't exist, the bot replies that this quote was not found. If there are no quotes at all on your channel yet, the bot replies that there are no quotes yet.
Adding a quote via chat (moderators only)
Only you as the streamer or your moderators can add a new quote directly from chat with this command:
!quote add That was quite a clip!
The bot confirms this with the new quote's number, for example "Zitat #13 hinzugefügt!". The "Added by" field is automatically filled with the name of the chatter who used the command.
The !quote add command is fixed and cannot be renamed on this page.
Typical workflow
- During or after the stream, something funny gets said. A moderator types
!quote add <text>in chat. - The quote immediately appears in the table on this page and can be looked up with
!quotefrom that moment on. - You can later correct the quote with Edit or remove it with Delete.
Limits and edge cases
- There is no chat command to delete a quote. Deleting is only possible through this page.
!quote addonly works for you as the streamer and your moderators, not for regular viewers, subscribers, or VIPs.- A randomly drawn quote can repeat, there's no guarantee every quote appears equally often before others repeat.
TikTok: planned and in progress.
FAQ
Can I look up a random quote with my own keyword instead of !quote?
Yes, you can set up an additional automation with a random quote as the action, see the Automations guide. The fixed !quote command is unaffected by that.
Why doesn't the bot react to !quote add when I test it as a regular viewer?
Adding quotes is intentionally limited to you and your moderators, so not everyone can add arbitrary text as a quote.
What happens to the number of a deleted quote? The number is not reused. New quotes always get a new, higher number.
