Mod Log

Moderation Log
This page shows a record of all moderation actions the bot has automatically performed in your chat. Menu: Moderation → Mod Log.
What the page is for
Every time the automatic moderation (forbidden words or spam protection) deletes a message, times out a viewer, bans, or warns them in your chat, that action is recorded here as a row. This way you can always see what the bot did, when, and to whom, without having to search through your Twitch chat history.
The settings for automatic moderation itself (forbidden words, spam protection, which action triggers on which violation) you make on the Word Filter & Spam Protection page, see guide Word Filter & Spam Protection. On the Mod Log page you only see the result. You can't set or edit anything here.
Manual actions you perform yourself via the Moderation page or directly on Twitch (e.g. you manually ban a viewer) are not recorded here. The Mod Log contains only actions the bot triggered automatically.
Page structure
The page consists of just one table, newest entries first. You can search by username and sort the table by time. You can choose 25, 50, or 100 rows per page.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| User | The Twitch username of the person the action was performed on. |
| Action | Which action was performed: Ban, Timeout, Deleted, or Warning. Color-coded (ban red, timeout yellow, deleted gray, warning blue). |
| Reason | The reason for the action, for example the forbidden word that triggered the message. Long text is truncated. |
| Duration | For a timeout, the length in the format minutes:seconds. For ban, delete, or warning, empty. Only visible on larger screens. |
| Triggered by | Shows that the action was triggered automatically. Only visible on larger screens. |
| Time | Date and time of the action in the format DD.MM.YYYY HH:MM. |
Which actions are logged
The Mod Log captures two automatic sources:
- Forbidden words: Once a message contains a forbidden word (or a matching pattern) you entered on the Moderation page, the bot performs the configured action (delete, timeout, ban, or warn) and records it here with the reason "Forbidden word:
". - Spam protection: If spam protection detects a violation (e.g. repetitions, too many links, all caps), it deletes the message or, depending on the number of previous violations (strikes), sets a timeout with increasing duration. The reason then starts with "[Auto-Mod]" followed by the detected violation.
For a warning, the bot also writes a public message in chat telling the person to follow the chat rules.
FAQ
Why is an action I saw on Twitch missing? Only actions the bot performs automatically are logged. If you banned someone yourself or gave a manual timeout, that doesn't appear in the Mod Log.
Can I delete an entry here or undo an action? No, the Mod Log is a view only. To unban, do it directly on Twitch or via unban requests, see guide Unban Requests.
What does "Triggered by: Automatically" mean? It only shows that no human performed the action, but rather automatic moderation. All entries in the Mod Log are automatically triggered.
The table is empty even though I set up spam protection and forbidden words. Why? Either no violation has occurred yet, or automatic moderation isn't active on the Moderation page. Check your settings there.
