StreamBridge (Minecraft): Special systems

These systems sit behind the more complex actions and make sure nothing in the game gets permanently damaged.

Fake death (FakeDeath)

Creates the illusion of a death event without the player actually dying.

  • Creates a snapshot of the player: position, health, hunger, saturation, active effects, statistics
  • Prevents real item loss (setKeepInventory(true), drops are cleared)
  • On respawn, the player is placed back at the exact old position, all values (including potion effects and statistics) are restored
  • Edge case: if the player disconnects during a fake death, the snapshot stays saved until they return or the server restarts

Sky drop (SkyDrop)

Teleports a player to a great height and lets them fall safely.

  • Looks for a safe landing point, avoiding lava, magma, fire, cacti, powder snow and similar dangerous blocks
  • The player gets a grace period against fall damage during the drop
  • Edge case: if no safe point is found within 12 attempts, the player simply lands at the highest available height over the terrain

Timed effects (TimedEffects)

Manages all actions with a time limit (for example inverted controls, glass cage).

  • Visualized via a purple progress boss bar, showing the label and remaining seconds (e.g. "Label 10 s")
  • Runs automatic cleanup logic once the time expires

Effect bars (EffectBars)

Shows active potion effects as their own boss bar above the hotbar.

  • Color-coded: beneficial effects green, harmful effects red, others blue
  • Shows name, level (II, III, …) and remaining time (e.g. "1:30" or "45 s")

Restore system (RestoreStore)

A backup system for blocks and items changed by an action.

  • Stores affected blocks (world, coordinates, placed block, original state) as well as helmets (for example before the pumpkin effect), the latter as base64-encoded data
  • Prevents tracked blocks from being permanently destroyed by explosions
  • All still-open restores are executed immediately when the server shuts down
  • Edge case: if a saved block state is faulty, the block is set to air as a safety measure to prevent server crashes
  • Edge case: if a saved helmet no longer fits on restore (for example because the player already wears another helmet), it drops as an item on the ground instead of blocking the player

Display & tab placeholders (StreamDisplay, TabPlaceholders)

  • Processes the live status data from the panel and sends global chat announcements with clickable links when a stream starts
  • Detects a player's role (streamer, moderator, regular player)
  • With the TAB plugin installed, the placeholders from the overview guide are available

FAQ

Does a player really lose their items on fake death? No, the system turns on "keep inventory" and clears the drop list, nothing is lost.

What happens if an anvil or other object in the sky drop system would cause real damage? The system intercepts critical events and only keeps the visuals (particles, sound), without causing real damage.

Do blocks stay permanently changed after an action? No, the restore system remembers the original state and restores it once the action ends, even across a server restart.
