Update Overview

Admin, Update Checker, Update Overview shows, for every server with a source, the server, the egg, the source type, the installed version, the latest version, the status and when it was last checked. The status is one of three states:

  • Up to date, shown in green
  • Update available, shown in yellow, counted in the navigation badge of the page
  • Unknown, shown in gray, with the reason as an extra hint under the status, for example "The configured source could not be reached" or "No way to read the installed version is configured for this source"

A status filter narrows the list. Every row has a "Check now" action, a header button "Check all now" checks every server at once and then shows a summary, number checked and number with an available update. Directly in the row you can also trigger "Apply update" or, for Minecraft servers with a newer Minecraft version available, "Switch Minecraft version", both with the same backup and confirmation logic as in the server console.

There is deliberately no dedicated column in the built in server list of the admin area, since Pelican offers no safe way to extend it without changing the panel core. The Update Overview page and its navigation badge are the stand in for that.

Update Sources

See the dedicated "Update Sources" page for the list of all source types, automatic detection and egg images. The admin page itself also shows the egg image, its status, automatic, own image, locked, not found or error, and allows filtering by image status.

Settings

Admin, Update Checker, Settings is organized into sections:

Section Content
Checking Check frequency, every 15 minutes to daily, and cache time in minutes
Automation Toggles for automatic source detection and automatic egg images, IGDB client ID and secret
Steam Addresses of the SteamCMD and Steam news API
Minecraft Addresses of the Purpur, Paper, Leaf and Forge API
GitHub GitHub token and API address
Hytale Address of the official updates page and the search pattern for version numbers on it
Connection Timeout per request in seconds

IGDB credentials

Only needed for games that are not on Steam. Client ID and secret come from a Twitch developer app, the secret is stored encrypted.

GitHub token

Without a token GitHub allows only 60 requests per hour for the whole panel, with a token 5,000. A fine grained token without extra permissions is enough, only public data is read. The token is stored encrypted, an already saved token is kept when the field is left empty on save.
