Mods

The Mods page lists every mod in the server's mods folder, checks whether it fits the running Hytale version and lets you upload, patch, repair and delete mods. It only appears with the hytale-admin.mods-manage permission.

Overview

The top shows the server version (from the admin mod or, if it does not answer, from the server files) and three figures:

Figure Meaning
Installed mods All JAR and ZIP files in the mods folder
Ready to load Mods Hytale loads with this server version
Problems Mods that do not fit or have a corrupted manifest ("all fine" or "please check")

A notice box explains compatibility patching.

Column Content

Any server version ServerVersion is *, the mod runs with every version
No manifest The file has no readable manifest
Corrupted manifest (red) The manifest contains broken fields

Actions

Action What happens
Upload Mod Uploads a JAR or ZIP file into the mods folder. With the Patch ServerVersion in manifest switch the ServerVersion is set to the running server version on the way. Only for unsigned mods.
Patch Version Sets the ServerVersion in the manifest of an installed mod to the running server version. The dialog shows the old and the new version. For signed mods this breaks the signature. Not possible while the server version is unknown.
Repair Only shown for Corrupted manifest. Fixes empty arrays [] that should be objects {} (caused by an earlier patching bug) and uploads the file again with the corrected manifest.
Delete Removes the mod file permanently after a confirmation.

All changes take effect after the next server restart. Patching and deleting are recorded in the activity log.

Troubleshooting

Server version unknown

  • The server is not running or the admin mod is not installed. Start the server or reinstall the admin mod on the setup page, then Patch Version works again.

Mod still not loaded after patching

  • The mod is signed and patching broke the signature. Get a matching version from the author.
  • The server has not been restarted since patching.
